Temenos T24 Technical Consultant (Sydney, Australia)

Overvew of role:

The main responsibility of the role will be to provide technical support and advice at client sites throughout all technical stages of TEMENOS implementation projects.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:
T24 system administration
Maintenance of all hardware environments; connector and browser
Installation and maintenance of jBase and jBase-Oracle drivers
Backups and restoration of data
Conversion of environments from UNIX to Windows environment for local host
Patch installation and maintenance
Oracle database maintenance
Tuning of Oracle parameters
Creation and maintenance of database, schemas
Creation and maintenance of indexes
Execution and retrieval of explain plans
Project hardware architecture planning
Conduct performance load testing; setup environment for UAT, SIT and production
T24 branches setup
Helping in configuration and maintenance of 3-tier multi-server architecture

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Minimum of three years' experience in system administration, preferably in AIX environments or other UNIX flavours
Basic working knowledge of all UNIX flavours (AIX, HP-UNIX, Sun Solaris) other than the one on which the applicant is currently working
Good knowledge/usage of all basic tools, utilities in AIX, HP UNIX, Sun Solaris and Linux; familiarity with UNIX system environment variables, UNIX kernel parameters
Ability to write basic shell scripts
Conversant with all system administration tasks such as installation of applications, maintenance activities, backups, restoration and troubleshooting
Must have the aptitude to understand T24 application and all system administration tasks involved in maintaining a T24 environment. The candidate should be able to install and maintain all software necessary for T24 environments like jBase and jBase drivers, T24 browser, Websphere, Tomcat, and basic administration of the Oracle database
Experience with installation of IBM WMQ, IBM Websphere, and Tomcat. Good knowledge and understanding of MQ clustering, NFS concepts. Knowledge of IBM Webshpere and MQ Integration with T24
Role includes installation and maintenance of different third-party applications including troubleshooting
Must have experience with hardware maintenance (servers, printers, etc), network administration, and good understanding of disk architecture
Good knowledge of basic client-server architecture and 3-tier multi-server architecture
A good understanding of relational database, XML messaging; basic working knowledge of Oracle Database including creation of databases, schemas, tuning of Oracle parameters, creation and maintenance of indexes and generation of explain plans
