DIGITAL MANAGER – Belgium

A European provider of the perfect retail shopping experience, our client is looking for a Digital Manager to work in collaboration with the Marketing team.

Role in summary:
To deliver the local / national content, website, digital marketing, online PR (including social media) and related reporting, providing a pivotal support to the Belgium marketing team.

This includes:
• Day to day responsibility for all aspects of the website content. Including constant updates on product, promotions, promotions, events, and local areas of interest, keeping it fresh and using creative your creative copywriting skills to write new copy and respond to challenging questions posed by the general public in the forums, blogs or boards.
• Being an online specialist and a natural advocate of the web, with some technical understanding of online applications and web functionality.
• Testing and QA of new applications for websites and digital campaigns.
• Online consumer marketing communications through e-newsletters, email or SMS marketing and online PR or viral campaigns. [You should be aware of opportunities with SEM and PPC campaigns - Google Adwords and keyword bidding - and be able to advice on how to optimise content.]
• Co-ordinating and preparation of creative, including relevant and personalised copy and segmentation analysis for D2C campaigns (email, newsletters, SMS).
• Research and monitoring of local buzz for social media sites such as Facebook, blogs, Twitter, and local equivalents for reporting.
• Promoting the use of new and innovative technology, while compiling competitor reports in order to ensure that the local online marketing activity is consistently at the forefront and relevant to local consumers.
• Comprehensive understanding of Google Analytics and all reporting with regards to website traffic, using analytics to better understand consumer behaviour and to target future campaigns.
• Helping to monitor, organise and create video content for the websites and blogs, including uploading and placing on the various appropriate sites online.
• Reporting on local campaign analysis and ROI for email campaigns, display advertising, buzz, online PR and partnerships.
• Research into local digital and consumer trends.
• Growing the customer database through data capture at all possible points, working in conjunction with the local and central teams – and management of Loyalty Clubs.
• Sourcing local sites for online PR purposes (recommendation sites, directory listings).
• Working with the Digital and country marketing team to integrate advertising and PR across all platforms.

Essential requirements:
• Fluent in Dutch, with a very high-level of French, German and English.
• Educated to a degree level, ideally with a marketing or business focus.
• Proven track record in Digital Marketing Communications.
• Proven track record in SEO, Search Marketing, Online advertising, link building and online partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge of web metrics and web advertising models.
• Good local understanding of social media, including the use of Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Facebook, MySpace, Delicious, tagging, blogs, Twitter and other sites of interest.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills aligned with strong technical skills - comfortable with multiple interfaces to gather and manipulate data.
• Hands-on approach with strong management skills, and experience in managing, training and building teams. [Responsible for supervising consultants, contractors or other staff as appropriate.]
• Clear ability to analyse local markets, identify opportunities and develop insight at a strategic level.
• A strong negotiator with excellent spoken and written communication skills able to work effectively at all levels.
• Experienced in working with teams (internal and third party) to launch initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of the internet and developing trends of user behaviour.
• Visionary insight into future technological trends / opportunities and how they can be used by communities to deliver added value.
• Passionate about all things online and digital, full of ideas and strategic creativity and ready for a challenge.

Desirable:
• Pan-European experience.
• Director to Consumer (Direct Marketing) and Retail experience a plus.
