European Category Manager (Furniture)

About the position
In this role you will be responsible for creating and developing a core European product assortment for the Category Furniture, and maximizing the business benefits thereof. In addition you will provide direction for local country-based Category Managers supporting local product assortment with focus on product positioning, product offer, catalogue development, pricing architecture and product promotion.
As this position impacts almost every aspect of Office Depot’s business you will need to network and communicate extensively with peers in all relevant departments (especially the European Private Brand Business Manager, European Purchase Manager and Local/Regional Merchandising Teams). Finally, you will play a key role in managing the European Furniture supplier base.
The role is complex in view of the multitude of local needs, requirements, languages and regulations. Office Depot is a multi-channel, multi-brand organization and this position will require liaising with multiple colleagues in almost all European countries. Each decision you make will have a high impact on vendors, catalogues, supply chains, systems employed, internet etc.
