The role: Data Center Facilities Technician - Saint-Ghislain

At Google we have new job opportunities for experienced Facilities Technicians (with skills in mechanical or electrical maintenance) in our new data center facility near Saint-Ghislain in the Hainaut region of Belgium.

Working in the facilities team you will have key responsibility for operating, monitoring and maintaining the facilities infrastructure for one of our newest and largest Data Center operations outside the US.

Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the uptime and maintenance of chillers, water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, UPS, generators and BMS.
Develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs, whilst improving efficiencies.
Operate, monitor, maintain and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
Tracking and trending operational characteristics.
Provide on-call cover.
Requirements:
Third level academic qualification (or trade cert) in mechanical or electrical engineering (KT/LT/Bachelor/Hogeschool/Diplom).
Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance- including HVAC, plumbing, water pumps and treatment, evaporator systems etc.
Or extensive experience in electrical maintenance in critical large scale facilities (Data Centre, Pharma, Medical or Electrical)- including UPS, generators etc.
Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new process, procedures and equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (+ preferably with fluency in either French, Flemish/Dutch or German).
Valid EU Work Authorisation.
