GL Accountant (Swedish + English)

Client

Our client is an international company located in the south of Brussels and active in the medical sector.
To reinforce their accounting department (shared service center) they are currently looking for a General Ledger accountant for the Swedish organization.

Job description

The GL accountant is responsible for the day to day posting and follows up on the open balance sheet items.
He assists the management in reporting and will back up the country owner for accounting technical or reporting related matters. Depending on the country group structure the GL accountant backs up the AP accountant.

A. Day to day activities
Ensuring that all documents and information are timely, accurate and properly recorded and documented regarding the intern regulations.
Local and corporate reporting to the management
Follow up on balance sheet
Ensure all the controls related to SOX 404
Escalate and disclose Issues to the Management

B. Other
Back up of the Management in place
Back up of the AP accountant (depending on country)
Develop Good Contact with the Country finance organization in order to improve processes and smooth communication
Support the country owner on accounting/ reporting related maters

Profile

Bachelor in accounting
Solid Accounting experience of 5 years or more (preferably on a GL level),
Experience in a Shared Service Center is certainly a asset
Fluent in Swedish and English (MENDATORY!!), all other European languages are assets
Good knowledge of SAP
Adequate level of communication and negotiation skills
Quality and result oriented
