The primary role of this position will be to support the EMEA controller by completing monthly reconciliations (AP, inventory, payroll etc.) and analyses on the financial statements, supervising day to day AP transactions and completing special projects.

The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate his/her abilities to coordinate all accounting matters and tasks for our European operations:
  • Ability to understand, apply and explain all company accounting policies.
  • Needs to have experience with a sophisticated ERP system (Oracle, SAP, etc). Ability to become an Oracle "super-user" and to effectively test the system, perform all day to day functions within Oracle and train other users. Ability to communicate with Oracle Team to escalate problems and get them solved as well as proposing improvements.
  • AP: Oversee AP process including providing support for daily AP transactions, working to take correctives actions as needed and keeping the suppliers data base updated and accurate. Reconcile AP sub-ledgers with GL.
  • Cash and bank: Responsible for the monthly bank reconciliation - will assist Finance Manager for cash forecasts.
  • Reconciliation of major accounts/balance sheet items: Fixed Assets, Inventory, Accruals, Prepayments and Deposits.
  • Support Finance Manager with all third party audits and preparation of all tax filings including the VAT quarterly declaration and VAR filing.
  • Key contact with third party to prepare corporate tax filing.
  • Assist Finance Manager during Month End Close period to reconcile all items linked to Balance sheet and P&L - will prepare GL entries, and take care of recurrent postings such as accruals.
  • Help implement and document procedures within the accounting department.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as requested.
