Our client is a global leader in Defence and Aerospace manufacturing.  An opportunity has arisen for a Senior CAD Engineer to join the manufacturing team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create CAD drawings, SOPs, and written specifications for new product launches to guide Operations for efficient assembly and testing.
Assist Operations in resolving technical issues and documenting investigation work, improving production processes and product designs to cut costs and boost reliability while meeting quality standards.
Design, develop, and optimize tooling and test jigs promptly by collaborating with design and manufacturing teams, ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.
Review and update product/process documentation and ERP system information, including bills of materials and design change requests.
Conduct detailed statistical analysis, provide relevant KPIs to identify process weaknesses, and implement corrective actions for improvement.
Collaborate with the Design department throughout the New Product development lifecycle to maximize manufacturability and efficiency (DFM).
Research and implement new technologies to enhance assembly and testing processes.
Train operations teams on new assembly methods and technologies during New Product Introduction (NPI).
Generate Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE   
Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering (or similar subject) - Ideal
Lean manufacturing or six sigma qualifications preferred
Knowledge of IFS ERP software and Microsoft SharePoint
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and
Outlook
Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standard
