"Key Responsibilities: Establish the sourcing strategies for the portfolio of capital equipment, determining the optimum approach through analysing business need and potential sourcing options. Lead and manage Purchasing activity for the portfolio, ensuring that all purchases are co-ordinated and consolidated at the optimum level Local, Country, European, and Global. Develop internal working relationships with customers, holding regular update meetings to discuss progress and agree future actions. Work closely with mill teams in order to trial new equipment. Negotiate supply and installation contracts to obtain competitive advantage in terms of cost, quality and service, and to meet challenging savings objectives. Analyse and influence the supply market, assessing suppliers’ process and quality capabilities, and manage supplier relationships and performance. Build and maintain an extensive supplier, material and market knowledge base. Represent European Sourcing and Supply internally including Global sourcing studies, working in multi-functional teams. Operate within the applicable corporate procedures, controls, and systems for the effective acquisition of goods and services, ensuring Internal Control requirements are met at all times.Candidate Profile:Qualifications Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards it or equivalent Must be fluent in English, 1 or more other European language desirable Demonstrates significant commercial experience in professional purchasing of capital equipment, having identified suppliers for and purchased a wide variety of items Demonstrates experience of drafting / evaluating complex contracts, having identified and mitigated potential risks Candidates will be technically astute, and an engineering related qualification would be advantageousSkills Required: Demonstrates a track record of success in achieving commercial solutions and cost-savings Possesses strong commercial acumen Strong interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and influencing ability Ability to drive and lead cross-functional teams Experienced in sourcing and managing supplier relationships Self-motivated and independent, demonstrating initiative with an ability to work in a stand-alone role and to identify opportunities Demonstrates strong attention to detail"
