TITLE:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Continued)

JOB OBJECTIVE:
Implement procedures for inspecting and testing the quality of work-in-progress and semi-manufactured products in the sub-assembly shop floor, i.e., fabrication and mechanical operations. Closely monitor production processes and ensure that semi-manufactured products are within designed specifications and quality standards prior to further processing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct process control inspection of work stations, e.g., Press shop, Mechanical operations and assembly, welding and painting, to ensure that products are within designed specifications.
Perform visual, dimensional and functional test in accordance to planned activities.
Conduct visual, dimensional and functional tests of semi-manufactured products and sub-assemblies while in process.
Conduct first piece inspection of parts as requested by production.
Conduct first piece inspection of products and tools, as requested, based on approved quality standards and specifications.
Identify rejected batches to avoid further processing; put on hold non-conforming products for further quality evaluation, if needed.
Recommend corrective actions and modifications in design or quality standards.
Coordinate product quality problems with other departments, such as procurement, design and engineering, production, etc.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
Perform other related activities as required.

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
Graduate or three years undergraduate, or with diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year in inspection activities, preferably in metal fabrication industry.
TRAINING
Training in Quality and/or Inspection field is preferred but not essential.
SKILLS
Must know how to use and apply inspection and measuring gauges and equipment.
Must be able to read engineering and technical drawings.
