Sr Business Intelligence Developers – Bryanston - South Africa
The Senior BI Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business intelligence applications. This person will work extensively with the client community to identify user requirements and recommend solution options.
• He/She will perform as the technical lead for Business Intelligence report design and development as well as the administration, maintenance, and performance of Business Intelligence server applications
Writing SQL statements (stored procedures, triggers, cursors and general scripting)
• Reporting Services 2005
• Database design, and the normalisation of data structures
• Database Administrator experience
• Project Management experience will be advantageous
Has to have solid knowledge around writing SQL statements (Candidate needs to be fully fluent in SQL, stored procedures, triggers, cursors and general scripting)
• Must have at least 2 years SSIS experience
• Must have built and maintained OLAP cubes in Analysis Services 2005 [2 years experience](Should have a good understanding of MDX)
• Needs to be fluent in reporting services 2005 and have developed reports and have a general understanding of Reporting Services 2005
• Complex Reports
• Master Reports
Cube Reporting
• Needs to have a very good understanding of database design, and the normalization of data structures [3 – 5 years experience] (Meaning the candidate must have developed a star schema and facilitated a team effort)
• The candidate needs to have some Database administrator experience [1 – 3 years experience] (Needs to be comfortable with some the internal workings of SQL Server)
• If the candidate has a sound foundation behind project management and the effort incurred then this is a bonus
• Needs to have good Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, ...)
• Needs to have logical thinking and an analytical mind
• Needs to work well as a team leader
• Needs to have a passion for the industry and willing to do self study
