POSITION : REGIONAL LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

SECTION : REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE (RTC)

TYPE OF POSITION : 18 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT

REPORTING TO : REGIONAL LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (RLDM)

SALARY RANGE : R32 112 (negotiable depending on experience)

Main Purpose of the Job:

To deliver core competence management training for LE & UK based staff located at Posts within the Southern and Eastern Africa region.

Main duties:

 Deliver FCO modules of Core Competence related training.
 Maintain and process training and evaluation forms and related statistics.
 Share information across the RTC network.
 Liaise with RLDM and Regional Learning and Development Coordinator (RLDC) on learning and development matters.
 Analyse training effectiveness based on stakeholder feedback and design and deliver necessary changes.
 Conduct Investor in People (IiP) Internal Reviews.
 Assist colleagues with personal learning and development needs.
 Deal with any learning and development matters arising.

Personal Specification:

 Accreditation as facilitator.
 Experience in action learning methodology.
 Excellent communication and organisational skills.
 Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
 Teamwork, strict service ethos.
 Willing to travel extensively in Africa and the UK (at least one week's travel per month).

Minimum requirements:

 B Degree or formal training qualification with 5 years experience in training/ facilitation.
 Experience in core competence development facilitation.
 Experience in action learning methodology.
 The successful applicant will need excellent management skills to manage themselves, resources, operations and other staff.
 Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and people management skills with a demonstrated track record of effectiveness in a culturally diverse environment.
 High degree of self-motivation and drive.
 Must be IT literate – fully conversant with Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet and Outlook.
