Up to ?60k basic + ?5k car allowance / company car + 25 days holiday + 6% contributary pension scheme + 3 times death in service

My client is a division of major worldwide company, who are a FTSE Support Services Group with a turnover of more than ?1.25 billion and employing over 11,000 staff worldwide.

They provide specialised, multi disciplined support services to clients principally within the industrial, power, defence and commercial sectors. Their activities are focused on process plant and equipment and on infrastructure. They are also a market leader in the hire and sale of access equipment across all sectors

They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to successfully deliver sound commercial management of this important term contract, by adherence to the Company?s Procedures and to protect the exposure of the Company to financial risks. Youll also be required to oversee the effective management of the supply chain.

THE ROLE

To ensure the full and proper implementation of the Company?s Procedures.

To co-operate with, report to and implement the reasonable directives of the Commercial Manager (functional reporting) and Operations Managers (operational matters).

Ensure in consultation with the operational teams that all necessary notices and submissions required by the contract are given in an expedient manner so as to protect the Company?s position in its trading activities.

Ensure in consultation with the site teams the prompt and regular submission of payment applications including for the timely submission of all necessary supporting information and subsequent cash collection and that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with their subcontract terms.

Prepare accurate draft sub-contracts and/or to approve such drafts as prepared by subordinates to the level of responsibility delegated by the individuals supervisors.

Assist the site teams in the administration of sub-contractor performance so as to ensure the economic and timely completion of all sub-contractor liabilities written into sub-contracts.

Record and analyse the impact of variations.

Participate and advise on programme/delay issues arising from change/variations and to prepare claims for extensions of time.

Prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts for outage events.

Participate or lead in Project Meetings.

Participate in dispute avoidance or alternatively resolution.

Ensure the timely submission of all relevant data required to monitor and analyse individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis thereafter.

EXPERIENCE

Sound knowledge of different industry contracts.
Extensive experience of commercial processes associated with live projects.
Understanding of risk in construction engineering process.
Extensive experience of working on live projects and concluding final accounts.
Successfully completed a number of final accounts
Experience of procuring sub contracts.
