Process Automation Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Process Automation Engineer USP / DSP is the coordinator for PAS systems including interfaces to the MES as well as the main interface to the Project Area USP / DSP, Technical Facilities and New Buildings and the other technical disciplines (process equipment, building services, infrastructure), as well as to the operations group.

MISCELLANEOUS
- Optimization of technical processes and workflows to get the best benefit accord. to the project requirements
- Training/consultation/support of customers during all project phases (from design to commissioning)
- Translate process / user requirements for the automation system hardware and software

ENGINEERING / DESIGN
- Definition of automation scope in close cooperation with the project area managers, LSB customer and site
- Managing external and internal engineering interfaces - especially Yokogawa
- Risk analysis / DQ (if required)
- Coordination the provision of technical documents / review and approval
- Review FDS and phase description documents
- Development and installation of control strategies, user interfaces, data management together with external engineering partners and in accordance to the operational needs

CONTROLLING
- Define from project and area schedule the automation milestones (FAT dates, Design Deliverables, Construction, C&Q)
- Cost calculation of equipment and services

CONSTRUCTION
- Field supervision on the construction site and identification of required resources
- Close cooperation of construction packages with Construction Site Management

COMMISSIONING & QUALIFICATION
- Coordination FATs, offsite inspections and onsite commissioning
- Manage and participate to execution of Qualification (IQ, OQ) and/or commissioning and manage the provision of relevant documents
- Ensure Project documentation & hand-over to operations team

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Academic degree in Engineering with a good knowledge of electrical technologies used in chemical, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production plants
- Excellent knowledge in instrumentation & automation
- Fluent in English and French (business and technical subjects)
- Extended knowledge in GAMP and GMP
- Experience in start-up and maintenance of automation systems
- Experience in automation project execution
- Knowledge in software due to the requirements of the discipline scope
- Excellent user-related knowledge of automation technologies, process control and metrology
- Knowledge of technical and safety rules, laws, regulations (Ex- ,VDE, DIN , EN, IEC, etc.) and operational procedures
- Technical knowledge in process and plant engineering
- Several years of work experience in realization of automation installations
