The Background

A high profile government agency, based in the North West, is urgently looking for an Interim Head of Procurement for a minimum 6-month contract.

The Role

Your job wil be to develop innovative procurement systems across the agency while monitoring and developing their strategies and policies. You'll manage a small procurement team, being responsibile for the departmental procurement budget as well as playing a major role in controlling all agency spend. You'll be managing several key relationships, both internally and externally.

You

You'll have solid experience in managing a busy procurement office, preferably a graduate with corporate CIPS membership and an extensive knowledge of current European procurement legislation (OJEU). You'll fully understand UK business law and have sound commercial acumen, will have a proven record of high-level negotiation and ideally some project management knowledge (e.g. PRINCE2)
