Business Process Analyst to £80k
Last updated: 31/07/08
My client, a leading law firm, is currently looking for a business process analyst.
Candidates will have a strong grounding in process (Lean Six-Sigma etc) and the ability to bring this discipline and a mindset of continuous improvement, to help to raise the bar in terms of the teams' capability. The successful candidate will be expected to work across any number of projects and programmes, both in the UK and overseas. They will therefore apply their skills to a range of functional areas including Finance, HR and IT and will be able to quickly get to grips with underlying business processes.
Project Definition: Provide assistance to the business in drafting or reviewing work requests, and to the IT Sponsoring Group in approving/rejecting/prioritising the work requests by ensuring that they contain a clear definition of the request and potential benefits.
Project Justification: Develop justifications and business cases for projects that are clearly defined and understood, and deliver measurable benefits to the Firm. The time spent on this activity is commensurate with the complexity, size and scope of a project
Project Requirements: Work with the corresponding business group or practice area to understand, document and validate their requirements for change. Then expound those business requirements, using best practice templates/precedents, in a statement of requirements that is approved by the Project Board.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Solid level of business analysis experience. Transferable skills, gained in another role (such as project management) will be considered favourably.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills - ability proactively to solve problems by gathering, absorbing and analysing often complex information to solve work-related problems and make appropriate recommendations.
Communication skills - ability to listen, question and communicate in a clear and logical manner, tailored to the audience.
Team player - ability to work collaboratively with others in order to achieve team goals.
Self-management and organisation - ability to plan and organise own and others' time in order to meet business priorities. This also involves the drive to do things better by setting and achieving challenging goals.
