Pedagogical work in a London based children`s home – with young people aged 12 – 17 years.

Qualification: Social Pedagogues, Pedagogues, Social Workers with knowledge of Pedagogy essential
You must have studied this in Germany or have work experience in Germany. This is a specific requirement of this central government project.

Location: West London / Ealing / excellent connections to public transport and international airports

Interviews: 8th / 9th June 2009 in London

Salary: £ 23,874.00 - 25,344.00/ gross / annum + additional payment night work, weekend work or work on public holidays

Description: The employer provides medium and long-term residential accommodation for 6 teenagers (12 – 17 years old) who have complex needs. Ongoing assessment of the children`s development is part of your duties, and you will be working in a multi-agency service. You will be supporting these teenagers to fully tap their potential, increase their self confidence, teach them everyday life skills and develop into happy, healthy and responsible young adults who contribute towards the community.
Also, part of the job will be to promote and communicate the idea of (social) pedagogy to your British colleagues. This children`s home sometimes offers short term emergency accommodation to other children as well.
