They have modern, well designed and good equipped production centres that manufacture complex items both tailor-made and in batch for very diverse applications: telescopic booms and frames for mobile cranes, special profiles for bridges, parts for ships and bodywork, etc. The company is well renowned for its extended experience, technical expertise, flexibility and quality as reflected in their products and services. Our client has state of the art technological know-how and tools. Our client’s customer portfolio covers several continents, with the US, Russia and Asia as the major growth markets. Our client gets more than 98% of its turnover from export. They also have subsidiaries in Germany 2 and in Poland 1. They are currently looking for an Autocad Drafter for their production centre in Belgium. Job title: Autocad Drafter Location: Vlaams-Brabant Job Description Main responsibilities: 1.Translate customer orders into technical drawings and specs for plate tooling so that these job preparations can be used directly in the manufacturing process including calculations for unfolding and brand programs for laser cutting. 2.The job preparation needs to be meticulous and transparent so that every blue collar can understand the meaning on the spot. Knowing that the company’s production process is working in a 5 shifts schedule, also for the night and weekend shifts the drawings need to be crystal clear and self explanatory.3.Administrative management of quality documents into ERP system.4.Autonomous implementation of innovation programs based on the company’s Quality Production Process Improvement philosophy e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, etc.5.Supporting the maintenance service by providing technical drawings when and if machine settings have changed.6.Being present in the manufactory in order to pick up the feedback of the blue collars and take the necessary actions to improve the job preparation.7.On the long term the candidate will lead the job preparation team and coordinate these teams between different locations Germany and Poland.8.Reports to the Plant Manager. Skills/ Experience:1.The candidate holds an A2 industrial engineer degree or equivalent by experience. 2.The candidate has 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within the metal industry ideally in a high-quality steel plates production company. Experience with laser cutting and folding is highly recommended. 3.The candidate must have knowledge of Autocad & MS Office applications. The candidate has experience translating client order/requirements into technical manufacturing drawings used as a job preparation towards a production running 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 4.The candidate needs be entrepreneurial and initiate improvements based on the Quality Production Process Improvement philosophy of the company, quality and service delivery is one of the drivers. The candidate is able to speak with major customers and discuss technicalities of orders, is open for permanent changes and willing to fulfill the always changing customer needs. This means that the candidate has a very quick reactivity in regard to technical commercial issues.5.The candidate must be available regularly on the work floor in order to gather the required information in an empathic and structured way. The candidate must also be able to work well in a team environment and respond with initiative and be pro-active in improving situations, however is able to develop a serious level of autonomy.6.The candidate is a team player, open, friendly, decisive and communicative person.
