Analyst for User Interface web-based applications

Our client is continuously working on its existing back- and front office applications.
Next to the usual maintenance effort, there is a large pipeline of projects to be realised in the coming years. The majority of the applications are multi-tier applications with business and data layer on mainframe side (COBOL/DB2) and presentation layer developed in .NET, in C#.
We are looking for an analyst to strengthen the team that is developing the front end using .NET technology. By default our new applications are web based.

Start Date : ASAP
Duration : 1 year with possible extension
Language requirement :Fluent in French, Dutch and English.
Localisation of the job : Brussels (near North / Central Station)

ROLE OBJECTIVE:
Be the 'bridge' between the business consultants from the mainframe team and the .NET
development team. Make sure that the user interface conforms to the proper standards (and help to
improve standards).

Analysis and design (web based applications)
* Validation of the user interface part of the user requirements documents
* Creation of detailed design documents of the user interface (Workflow diagrams & description, screen description)
* Also be able to provide training to others on how to create those documents
* Create screen lay out propositions (mock ups)

Plan and follow up on development
* Provide estimations (required number of mandays)
* Plan and follow up on tasks for the developers of the team
* Perform testing (Quality Assurance)

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* 5+ years of professional experience in an Information Services environment
* Knowledge of the Insurance industry is a plus.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
* Software development background (Microsoft technologies).
* Understanding of relevant technologies and development life cycles
* Experienced user of MS Office tools.
* Knowledge on web site ergonomy is a plus
* Experience with web design

FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Two or more years of experience of functional analysis and design
* Experience of client-server web based applications
* Knowledge of Prince2 concepts / CMMI is a plus
