Tasks and responsibilities
1. Support the organisation and execution of concurrent engineering studies in co-operation with D/TEC technical specialists, project teams and industry;
Organise and lead the development of concurrent engineering tools and methods in support of the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF).
2. Maintain and upgrade the CDF hardware and software core infrastructure to ensure the functionality and performance of the CDF, including documentation, user manuals and databases.
3. Promote the use of the CDF to support ESA programmes, industry and external customers
4. Provide support to ESA projects in the area of system engineering.
5. Organise and participate in the training of the CDF users.
6. Provide support to the Directorate's activities as requested within his field of competence.
In the fulfilment of his/her duties he/she will be supported by specialists and will work in close co-operation with D/TEC engineers, ESA trainees and external experts.
In order to execute the above tasks the System and Concurrent Facility Engineer shall have good organisational skills, attention to detail, resourcefulness, team spirit and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Possess sound judgement and good communication skills.
