Trading Application Specialist

You will maintain the primary back-end trading applications such as order routing, market feeds and mapping through relational databases. Availability and performance of our client-server trading applications will be your responsibility. Implementing changes and software patches to application or market software must align system functionality with business needs. To gather application requirements, you are in close contact with the trading organisation. You manage and escalate changes and problems towards software vendors. With a backup for daily operation, you’ll be working with two other Unix Application Specialists. And because you’re forward thinking, you’ll participate in projects for new market connections and new applications. Your Profile... • Knowledge and experience in automated client-server trading software. • SQL knowledge. • Experience with Shell scripting and Perl. • Basic knowledge of Unix system administration. • Some knowledge of Windows and with basic operating skills. • Structured and analytical way of working. • Good communication and reporting skills. • Excellent English communication skills - both written and spoken. • University Degree or relevant IT qualifications. • The employer requires that all applicants have permission to work in The Netherlands/Europe or qualify for the Working Holiday visa (Australian, New Zealand or Canadian citizens only).
