Our client is looking for a Purchase Assistant who will support the sourcing managers, promoting and administering the procurement activities. Job description The person appointed will be supervised by a Procurement Manager within IT Sourcing Strategies and will be responsible for providing day-to day support to the team. The person appointed will assist in purchasing items in line with internal customer requirements with focus on cost reduction and improvement to the supply chain process. Responsibilities   Manage the day to day sourcing requests, update the internal systems and issue approved Purchase Orders. o Administer the internal requisition process. o Contact suppliers for quotations and information. o Prepare Purchase Orders after the requisition is approved. o Send out orders to suppliers and file paperwork both electronically and manually. o Monitor order status, chase deliveries and expedite as required. Check and Book in products received and update the system. Attend meetings and write up minutes and notes as required. Interrogate the system daily to review the number of requisitions and orders in the purchasing queue and action or escalate as appropriate. Provide a report of number of requisitions by category Interrogate the contract database to identify contracts due for renewal Progress actions for contract renewals by reviewing with Sourcing team
