Citrix/Terminal Services Specialist

The role is for a Terminal Services Engineer to support the design, development and maintenance of Terminal Services designs in Deployed, reporting to the Deployed Engineering Manager.

* Experience of Citrix design, implementation and management.
* Experience of Windows Terminal Services design, implementation and management
* Experience of securing Terminal Services
* Experience of IPSec implementation and management
* Medium to Large Scale Enterprise Deployment experience.
* Experience of server build automation.
* Experience in Scripting languages
* Experience of configuration automation and subsequent checking and validation.
Exposure to:
* MS Win Server 2003/2008
* Virtualisation (e.g. VMWare)
* Active Directory
* Experience in producing Installation Guides and providing support to delivery teams
* Good communication skills
* Ability to write documents in terms that can be understood by non engineers
* Hold or be capable of / willing to gain security clearance

Tasks to be completed by this role include:
* Production of Terminal Services designs; including High Level and detailed designs
* Implementation of Terminal Services designs, including prototyping, build and unit testing, support to integration, packaging, test, trials, and live running.
* Analyses performance problems connected with Terminal Services. Recommends solutions to enhance functionality, centred on improved redundancy and contingency measures.
* Identifies solutions to Terminal Services related defects, creates the Installable Component and supporting documentation required to fix the defect.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Participates with project teams in the implementation of new/upgraded designs.
* Works closely with the Deployed Engineering Manager and the Chief Engineer to ensure timely delivery of product.
* Works closely with the Release Manager to schedule testing and to ensure tracking and timely reporting.
* Reports progress to the Deployed Engineering Manager.
* Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends through resources such as internal systems, periodicals and websites
* Understands and adheres to standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management and security.
* Looks for ways to improve the Terminal Services implementation
