McAfee is seeking a talented individual to join a Core Technology team in Brighton. The team is responsible for core software components incorporated into our mobile data security solutions. The opportunity is to join this team working on a variety of projects enhancing McAfee’s leading edge product range. The work is varied and will primarily involve C development in a platform independent environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Software development and coding using C and C++

Producing design specifications addressing required functionality

Designing and coding new features as well as integrating and augmenting existing ones

Developing automated tests and guaranteeing the highest quality standard for the software

Working with QA when needed in order to allow extensive and exhaustive tests of the system

Bug fixing for developed software

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You must have excellent C and C++ development knowledge • Familiar with operating system internals and low level algorithms and coding techniques

Development experience within a defined software development process

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Able to solve issues or come up with workarounds quickly

Ability to work independently as well as part of a teams

Experience in writing embedded code

Experience of development across different operating systems, i.e. Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mac, etc...

Knowledge of C++ and Object Oriented design

Experience of developing kernel mode drivers

Able to foresee and diagnose complex problems on existing software projects
