Job Summary
In this role you will work directly with customers to understand their real time embedded software development process. You will help them to apply The MathWorks products and technology within their design flow.
You will focus on:
Real-time embedded software development
System modeling and control design in Simulink and Stateflow
Software verification and validation

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to work with The MathWorks' customers whose main business involves the development and verification of software from system models and control algorithms. You will work to establish credible technical relationships mainly with aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial automation and machinery customers.
You will be working as part of a talented, high-energy team. You will be using your modeling, code generation, industry domain and interpersonal skills to help our customers derive value from investing in The MathWorks’ products.
The key tasks that define this role are:
• You will be working with the MathWorks UK technical and commercial groups.
• You will provide technical guidance to existing and prospective customers. You will be required to understand and synthesize customer requirements and formulate credible solutions based on our core capabilities.
• You will prepare and deliver proof-of-concept presentations in customer meetings and seminars. These presentations use a combination of live MATLAB/Simulink product demonstrations and PowerPoint slide shows to address specific customer interest areas.
• You will be responsible for the technical management of customer product evaluations. This requires assisting customers in the development and application of MATLAB/Simulink programs that solve specific problems. Expertise in some or all of the following areas is required: control system design, real-time and non-real-time simulations, embedded systems development and C programming, software architecture, plant modeling, rapid prototyping, hardware in the loop testing, software certification.
• You will share customer experiences with other Application Engineers and members of the Marketing, and Development groups to ensure that future products are being delivered that truly meet and exceed expectations.
• Most travel will be within the UK. Occasional travel to The MathWorks headquarters in the US should be expected.
• Some international travel may also be expected.
Qualifications
A qualified applicant must possess as a minimum an excellent honors degree in Software, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Requirements:
• 2+ years experience if PhD, or 5+ years experience if Bachelors degree.
• 3+ years experience using The MathWorks or other comparable tools
• Experience in the Aerospace, Defense or Automotive industries
• Good knowledge of embedded C programming
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
• PhD in a related engineering discipline
• Knowledge of large scale modeling and software processes to include requirements management, configuration control, applying standards, documentation.
