Software Engineer

McAfee is seeking a talented individual to join it’s software engineering team in Aylesbury. The team is responsible for the ongoing development of McAfee leading edge Gateway security product which is used throughout the world. The opportunity is to join this team working on a variety of development projects and will primarily involve backend C++ development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Designing and coding new features as well as integrating and augmenting existing ones.

Documenting new features in coordination with the technical writing team.

Developing automated tests and guaranteeing the highest quality standard for the software.

Working closely with QA in order to allow extensive and exhaustive tests of the system.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Recent commercial development experience

Experienced with both Linux/Unix and Windows development

Excellent C++ knowledge with recent C++ development experience.

Experience writing multi-threaded and high performance C++ code.

Development experience within a defined software development process.

Knowledge/use of source control systems and defect tracking systems.

Cross-platform development

Knowledge of Mail systems and associated protocols

Experience with PERL and other scripting.

Experience of a wide range of network products: Mail servers, clients, proxies and firewalls.
