LABORATORY HEAD, FELLOW in PATHOLOGY / TOXICOLOGY, HUMAN AND ANIMAL HEALTH

IN THE HEART OF SWITZERLAND, THIS IS AN IDEAL LOCATION TO CONTINUE IN ESTABLISHING YOUR CAREER. THIS IS A SENIOR POST WHERE THE CANDIDATE WILL BE EXPECTED TO BE INVOLVED IN CROSS FUNCTIONAL PROJECT TEAMS.

You will lead the development and management of the humanised immune system and infectious models laboratory in a small team:

Line manage and supervise scientific, technical and administrative duties within your area, implementing annual lab objectives, responsible for performance

Develop, implement, validate and maintain state-of-the-art technologies and lab systems

Develop in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro methods (humanized infection, knockout and transgenic models) for drug-induced immune-mediated toxicity in a flexible and scientifically sound manner

Interact locally and globally within Novartis to design customised investigative studies

Act as study director in investigative immunotoxicology studies (non-GLP)

Develop and manage the Immune System Toxicology Network ensuring global information exchange concerning immune system safety issues in drug development

Foster interactions with academic collaborators

REQUIREMENTS

PhD live sciences and immunology
Relevant post-doctoral experience within a commercial pharmaceutical environment working on immunology, humanized immune system and infection animal models
Strong knowledge of cell biology and biochemistry
Experience with ANIMAL MODEL
Experience with state-of-the-art immunology technologies and approaches
Track record of effective technical and scientific problem-solving
Fluent written and spoken English
Good leadership and team line management experience
