£30-33,000 + excellent benefits (dependent on experience)

THE COMPANY

Founded more than 140 years ago, my client is the world's premier full-service provider of print and related services, including document-based business process outsourcing. It now requires experienced Translation Project Managers.

THE ROLE

As Translation Project Manager you will serve as the main contact person between the major clients (internal and external) and multilingual vendors. You are responsible for managing complex projects as well as specific production teams including junior Project Coordinators and freelancers, communicating specific detailed instructions to foreign speaking vendors, and managing workflows and processes. You are accountable for the final quality assurance of translation and real-time, accurate recording of activities.

DUTIES

-Work closely with senior team member to identify any aspect of the project where assistance might be requested, such as glossary creation and translation memories.
-Timely complete job related administrative tasks and regularly update Atlas with job status.
-Perform Quality assurance checks on translated documents.
-Regularly compile and update glossaries, previously translated similar documents, list of acronyms, technical terminology, and translation memories.
-For repeat clients, research previous translation teams and reference material to ensure consistency.
-With the assistance of senior PC select and assign translation teams, negotiate deadlines and coordinate production with translators, proofreaders, and Customer Service Reps.
-Keep senior PC/Supervisor up to date at all times via Status Reports.
-Keep all traffic in ATLAS up-to-date at all times and maintain accurate records of all costs.
-Check vendors' invoices for accuracy and match to purchase order.
-Exercise sound judgement in keeping supervisor informed of potential difficulties including those affecting cost and turn-around.
-Check completeness and accuracy of translation prior to sending it to client (where directly in contact), to senior staff member or to typesetting if needed.

REQUIREMENTS

-Degree or equivalent in Translation and/or interpretation or equivalent experience
-Fluent in English plus any language
-Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat).
-Ability to learn quickly how to create glossaries, assess quality and completeness of translations.
-Basic translation memory experience including TRADOS, glossary and file management preferred.
-Minimum 1 year previous experience in translation services.
-Ability to prioritise whilst handling multiple projects simultaneously in a hectic, time sensitive environment.
-Ability to accurately communicate detailed instructions to multilingual vendors.
-Detail and service oriented.
-Clear sense of accountability.
