Our market leading client is a global leader in payment processing and services. For their Credit & Risk department they are currently looking for a:

CREDIT & RISK MANAGER

The primary purpose of the job is managing risk exposure, minimize business losses and ensure P&L stability consistent with support of the individual alliance and broader business growth goals. Furthermore it is to act as the Senior Credit Officer and be responsible for all Credit & Risk processes and operations within the confines of the agreed Credit Policies. Emphasis is on liaising with the Management team, Sales teams, industry bodies and merchants to assist with the development, expansion and risk avoidance activities of our client.

Your responsibilities will be set, but not limited to the following:

• Carry out supervising of local underwriting activities and back-up for local underwriters in daily business in case of absence;
• Direct underwriting of larger merchant accounts;
• Co-ordinate risk-mitigating activities on Periodic Review accounts between client-bank and PR;
• Maintain Credit Policy and Risk Management Procedures;
• Questioning, reviewing and recommending changes where necessary;
• Manage all finance activities: accounting, invoice management/ payments;
• In the event of suspected or confirmed fraud visit or call merchants;
• Provide on-site fraud awareness training to merchants;
• Liaise with UK Credit and Risk Shared service centre on a daily basis;
• Represent our client at forums;
• Act as contact with risk counterparts;
• In the event of a serious dispute with a merchant initiate contact with a solicitor, produce police report, represent our client court;
• Responsible for 3 direct staff in Amsterdam office, and 3 indirect staff in UK

Experience and education:

• Minimum University degree;
• At least 3 years experience in Commercial Lending including Credit Analysis;
• Excellent analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative;
• Capable of making sound judgments based on the weight of available data;
• Excellent communication/ presentation/ negotiation skills (both verbal and written);
• Clear communication, advising management/ staff/ merchant of current issues and achievements;
• Taking personal ownership of new ideas, challenging ideas constructively;
• Able to work effectively with internal and external parties with minimal supervision;
• Ability to mobilize and motivate staff through inspirational leadership;
• Changing initiatives and drive the implementation within budget and time constraints;
• Able to set and achieve stretch goals and to measure performance improvement;
• High level of proficiency with personal computers and standard software applications;
• Excellent English language skills (verbal and written);
