"SENIOR TREASURERJob Title: Senior TreasurerWork Location: Geneva, SwitzerlandReporting to: The Chief Financial OfficerOur client is a wholly owned trading subsidiary trading in a wide range of grades of crude oil in every major market in the world.The Appointment:This role requires experience of working as a treasurer for the commodities section of a major bank or in an international oil trading business.The overriding objective of this appointment is to assume personal responsibility primarily for all aspects of the Companys cash flow management and planning.This embraces: Fine tuning the cash flow position within the group. Reviewing and monitoring the Companys existing cash position and designing and implementing appropriate cash management procedures. Driving the development of the cash management system within the company; integrating the cash management system into the company’s computerized trading system and accounts system which are currently in existence. Controlling currency exchange and managing the inherent currency risk. Investing surplus funds. Maintaining effective day to day working relationships with the banking community, including daily reconciliations. Managing foreign exchange risk and limiting rate exposure. Utilizing a general knowledge of the trading environment and monetary instruments, he/she will identify problem areas and will contribute to the provision of timely and effective solutions; In general, keeping abreast of developments within the company and maintaining vigilance in relation to potential problems and issues.CANDIDATE PROFILEAge: There are no rigid age limits. Qualifications: A sound general standard of education is required; a professional accounting qualification or degree.Languages: English is essential; French would be an asset.Experience: Candidates should possess most of the following: Several years experience in a management capacity in a treasury. accounting or financial role ideally including cash management, credit control, banking, etc. Several years experience of working in an international oil trading environment, ideally with reputable international trading house or with an established bank. Preferably, the ability to develop and establish systems and information flows, in relation to cash management Experience of interacting with colleagues at management level in an international producing and/or trading business.This role will require: Pragmatism, strength of character and a proactive attitude to management. The ability to lead, motivate and develop the existing treasury team. The confidence, maturity and stature to interact with colleagues at senior level within the Group and the potential to develop and further a career at senior management level. The ability to coordinate many tasks and projects simultaneously, including daily problemsolving,system development, bank liaison, trade reconciliations etc.. The ability to react swiftly to adverse and emergency situations, to propose solutions and ensure successful outcomes; an ability to resist stress and respond to the unexpected. Self discipline with sound planning skills; numeracy with some IT formation and a precise orderly method of working and attention to detail.REWARD PACKAGEThis will be individually negotiated to reflect experience and to attract suitably experienced candidates for this important appointment.
