General Ledger Accountant

Based in Switzerland, this role is responsible for providing accurate and efficient accounting support. The General Ledger Accountant will work closely with the finance team and the EMEA Assistant Controller to capture and record necessary data for all regular accounting procedures, in addition to involvement with special projects as required.

This role reports to the EMEA Assistant Controller.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and post monthly journal entries, analysis of variances and perform accounts reconciliations
Prepare Cash Forecast and arrange for inter-banks transfer
Assist the EMEA Assistant Controller to review invoices and expense reports
Update and maintain finance employees bank and Peoplesoft access
Update and maintain monthly finance checklists
Work closely with corporate on Peoplesoft processes issues & improvements
Work on SOX/external audit, tax and statutory filings
Work with Assistant Financial Controller in budgets preparation
Work on other projects and ad-hoc assignment as required

REQUIREMENTS

Graduate (university or college) with studies in Accounting or related field
Up to five years of experience in a similar position
Proficient in business-level English with second language (French or German) desired
Must have good MS Office skills; systems knowledge a plus
Knowledge of PeopleSoft or capability and desire to learn
Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task and willingly to take on additional responsibilities as and when required
