Our client is a global leader in Defence and Aerospace manufacturing. An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician to join the manufacturing team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacture Production components and jigs.
Maintain a safe working environment ensuring that all company and
regulatory standards are always achieved.
Contribute to continuous improvement through the identification, reporting
and resolution of Non-Conformance to products and materials
Carry out manual/CNC machining – turning (sliding head), milling and
surface grinding
Perform sub assembly and bench fitting of precision tools
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Make fixtures and other work-holding devices and tools as appropriate
Full mechanical inspection with the aid of an CMM
Program CNC machines and the use of CAD/CAM systems
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Has completed a formal apprenticeship in a “Toolmaking” or “Fitter / Turner” discipline or has experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of CNC Machining Required
ONC – HNC in mechanical engineering advantageous.
To be competent in the use of engineering machinery such as: - Milling machines, Lathes, Surface grinders, and CNC machines including sliding head.
Capable of programming CNC machines through MDI or using CAD/CAM
Background in Inspection.
