The Company
Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a new client in the East Lothian region in the recruitment of a part time finance manager. The role has been newly created and will form part of the organisation`s senior management team.

The role is a stand alone position which will report into the chief executive and will be a highly autonomous position.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to provide the organisation with financial support and insight into their financial performance. The role holder will be hands on in relation to all aspects of the accounting function ranging from transactional financial tasks to management reporting, financial accounting and investment appraisals.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Production of Annual Statutory Accounts and oversee external audit.
Liaise with external bodies in relation to statutory and regulatory requirements.
Production of monthly management accounts and board packs with critical analysis of financial variances of actuals versus forecasts.
Attend Board Meetings to present and discuss management accounts and finance report
Manage month end, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure accurate posting of income and expenditure
Prepare and post prepayments and accruals
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure depreciations are accurately maintained.
Management of rolling month cash forecasting in adherence with treasury management policy.
Working capital management to ensure cash is utilised efficiently.
Appraisal of projects communicating business plan impact and funding requirements to non-financial managers.

The Requirements
We are seeking a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CIPFA), who has a minimum of 5 years (UK), experience within a finance management capacity. Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate strong investment appraisal competencies and be confident in communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders. The role will be a part time post with some flexibility on either 3 or 4 days per week. The role will be highly autonomous with the successful applicant being required to take instruction and deliver financial information with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and attention to detail are paramount.

Our client will be expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office on a blended working model, the model that we are working with is 60% in the office and 40% working at home, however this may change and you may be expected to work more often in the office. If, however, applicants wish to work longer in the office the option is available to them
