Embedded Software Engineer

Caerphilly – Work From Home Options Mondays and Fridays (After Probation)
38 Hours 08:30-17:00 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:00 on Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily.
Embedded Software Engineer required for an industry leading company who are currently researching, designing, and developing new motor technologies and energy storage systems.
This role would suit candidates with experience designing and developing software as an embedded software engineer. You will have experience delivering hands-on code development and have experience of low communication protocols. You will need experience with processes and inverter code.
The successful engineer will be responsible for handling systems ranging from embedded micro controllers, HMI graphics and data acquisition systems to traction inverters. You will develop algorithms using C/C++ code and support system integrations.
The Embedded Software Engineer role:
· Coding using C/C++ (bare metal development)
· Develop software to automotive safety standards (ISO 26262)
· Support system integration
· Providing debugging during development to provide production-ready solutions
The Embedded Software Engineer Candidate:
· Experience as an embedded software engineer
· Experience of low communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, UART, LIN, CAN)
· Experience using Software Version Control
· Sound understanding of DSP processors, preferably Texas Instruments
· Working with hardware and software
· Knowledge of ISO 26262 highly desirable, preferably to ASIL C or D
· Knowledge of traction inverters and DC-DC converters
