Role: This position ensures that the Transport department is in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behaviour in the organisation meets the company’s Standards of Conduct.

Responsibilities:

*

Monitor the compliance operation and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness. Recommending revisions of policies and procedures for the general operation of Transport Compliance and its related activities including safe working procedures to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

Monitor various compliance management systems to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance to drivers on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

*

Report any compliance concerns identified immediately to the Transport Manager or Transport Supervisors

*

Respond to violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct through investigations and disciplinary proceedings and where necessary respond directly to the TC.

*

Work with the appropriate departments and external companies to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all drivers.

*

Ensure vehicles and users are compliant with current laws and legislation.

*

Ensure all drivers licences are current and applicable to the category they require, maintain the licence checking system

*

Ensure all tachograph records are downloaded and analysed in accordance with legislation and company guidelines, recommending further action to Transport supervisors

*

Update FMS (Fleet Check) with all changes (new vehicles, new drivers, change of driver, vehicle disposal, costs centre, MOT, RFL etc.)

*

Process new vehicles, new orders or temporary hire vehicles are registered on the MID, Dart Charge account and CC Zones web sites where necessary.

*

Arrange disposal of assets, processing V5C information and removing vehicles from the MID, Dart charge account and CC Zone.

*

Manage accreditation status of the Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme (FORS), which includes preparation of audit material; documents related to processes and procedures, and ensuring all drivers are trained to meet the standard set by FORS.

Provide reports on the compliance operation on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to senior management, appropriate departments, and individuals.

Coach, train and develop members of the compliance team and drivers to enable them to continuously improve their performance, professionalism, and competence

Skills / Experience:

*

Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers

*

Recent professional development

*

Fleet Management experience.

*

Up to date knowledge of H&S and Environmental requirements

*

Understanding/previous experience of FORS accreditation

*

Recommend disciplinary action where appropriate in accordance with the company guidelines.

*

Have a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook

*

Experience with web based compliance systems.

*

Ability for problem solving

*

Current Driving Licence – Car

*

Be able to prioritise workload and time management in order to ensure that Operational requirements are met.

*

Excellent organisational skills

*

Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate to all levels
