MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST, NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER CAMP LEJEUNE
LMFT, MFT TO WORK IN MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC providing initial level evaluation with appropriate individual and group therapy follow-on care for the Special Program Traumatic Brain Injury-TBI.
The program seeks to address gaps in the case available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through the adoption of risk-based staffing models and a uniform, best-practice standard of care across the DoD Military Health System, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to Psychological Health (PH) and TBI care for all beneficiaries and to ensure that transition across networks of care recognizes the unique care coordination and case management requirements for TBI patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Master's or Doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), or a qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)
LICENSURE: Current, Active state license from a U.S. State, territory, or district.
EXPERIENCE: POSSESS A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE AS A MARRIAGE AND FAMILY COUNSELOR/THERAPIST WITHIN THE LAST THREE YEARS.
DUTIES OF THE LMFT
* Provide services within the scope of their competencies including consultation, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning within the context of family systems for all disorders defined by the DSM.
* Usediagnostic and therapeutic procedures including:
* Interviewing
* Psychosocial and family history taking
* Mental status evaluation
* Major types of therapy including short and long term psychotherapy, psychodynamic, family systems, marital, group individual, and behavioral therapy
* Crisis intervention
* Community outreach
* Family and individual case management
* Community and systemic consultation (e.g., health promotion, prevention services, and command systems consultation)
* Discharge planning
HOURS/SCHEDULE:
Monday Friday, 40 hrs per week
