Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. This role involves assisting with accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and providing essential administrative support to the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and accurately entering data into the accounting system.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments while adhering to payment terms and company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements promptly and address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
Support accounts receivable functions by handling invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling customer accounts accurately.
Maintain meticulous financial records and documentation, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts as needed.
Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and responding to inquiries.
Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless processing of financial transactions and resolve any related issues.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in accounting or related field preferred.
1-2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player.
