An award-winning Trauma Center in Pennsylvania is actively seeking a highly skilled and ambitious junior Accountant to join their dynamic team.
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in our accounting team by managing various financial tasks and ensuring accuracy in our financial records. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations.
* Analyzing expense and revenue variances to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Assisting the Controller in the month-end process, including preparing and posting journal entries and conducting variance analysis for month-end financial statements.
* Reconciling balance sheet accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
* Contributing to various audits throughout the year, including inventory, petty cash, and non-monetary compensation audits.
* Generating financial and statistical reports to provide insights into our financial performance.
* Collaborating in the preparation of schedules for quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting.
* Completing assigned Medicare/Medicaid cost report schedules accurately and timely.
* Assisting with the month-end vendor accrual process to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Participating in special projects as assigned to support the department's goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Proficiency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Previous experience with a computerized general ledger system preferred.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Familiarity with the medical industry and insurance billing is advantageous.
