Team – Data Science
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll work independently on the delivery and post deployment monitoring of the most complex projects.  You’ll work at a fast pace and be able to deal with multiple projects concurrently. You’ll understand the business of Vitality and create awareness of the work of data scientists across the business. You’ll supervise the work of more junior members of the data science team.  You’ll always be on the lookout for new project ideas and proactively contribute towards the development of the wider data science team.
Key Actions

Implementing the machine learning life cycle: building models in a structured manner following best practice in the collection and analysis of modelling data, feature engineering, model fitting, selection, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
Delivering high impact projects: working on projects that have well defined business benefits.
Engaging stakeholders: working with stakeholders to understand their core needs and requirements to ensure the delivery of high impact projects.
Building and transferring skills and knowledge: taking responsibility for developing personal skills and expertise aligned to your role.
Applying risk management and governance: considering potential risks at every stage of a project.
Collaborating within and across teams: working effectively together with others across varying areas of expertise to achieve the required results.Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:

Undergraduate degree in numerical subject
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Significant experience accessing and analysing data using SQL and Python
Significant experience using commonly used regression and classification algorithms
Experience (3+ yrs) working as a data scientist
Expert in the process of building and implementing machine learning models to solve business problems
Taken a lead role in the management of data science projects
Ability to prioritise work in relation to likely business impact
Communicates effectively to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organisation
Demonstrable experience of working with the business to identify new projectsSo, what’s in it for you?
