Production Team Leader

Production Team Leader – Huntly, Aberdeenshire

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operator to be a Production Team Leader at a PVC Extrusion plant, part of a larger production facility.

Established in 1994, Dunster House Ltd is a growing family-run international business, currently employing approximately 420 people across our 11 sites.

This job is based out of our Huntly Branch, AB54 4PS.

The candidate should have a background in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Preferably with extrusion experience but not essential, as training will be provided.

We welcome applications from recent Graduates, with a minimum 2:1 degree in a Technical subject, with a hands-on and can-do attitude to develop, manage, and run an extrusion line, as well as wider production skills.

The right individual will be able to demonstrate problem-solving and have strong personal traits such as assertiveness and the ability to use their own initiative, as well as administration and time management skills in order to succeed.

Duties:

* Assistant to the Production Manager

* Manage production in the absence of the Production Manager

* Setup operation/shutdown of the PVC extrusion line and peripheral machinery

* Co-ordinating with the Maintenance Engineer during problem-solving, breakdowns, and improvement efforts

* Identify faults and carry out basic maintenance activities

Requirements:

* Right to work in the UK without sponsorship

* Experience of working in a production environment preferred, but not essential

* Have an aptitude for technical work and a good understanding of the extrusion process, although full training will be provided

* Ability to be flexible and work without supervision

* Competent in problem-solving, planning and decision-making with the ability to work under pressure, in a quality and results-driven environment

* Positive approach with a continuous improvement mindset

* Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing

Hours of work:

* 40 hours per week. (initially normal working, but moving to 12 hour day/night shifts

Holidays

* 30 days per annum, including Bank Holidays, increases with length of service

Salary:

* £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
