Reporting to the Group HR & Operations Director, the HR & Payroll Specialist shall be responsible for coordinating our monthly payroll processes whilst providing effective support to the HR & Operations Team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a first point of contact for employee queries on leave, statutory entitlements, and compensation
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data, such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals and absenteeism rates
- Oversee employee registrations as well as work permit applications
- Responsible for absence management and daily updating of relevant HR and Payroll Systems
- Verify attendance related data for payroll processing
- Prepare and execute payroll instructions in a timely and effective manner
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Be involved in and contribute to other HR projects as requested
Qualifications & Assets:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role
- A good understanding of labour legislation
- In-depth knowledge of general accounting practices and payroll best practices coupled with previous experience using Shireburn Indigo
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and flexibility with work schedule to accommodate last minute requests
- Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated level of professionalism and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills communication and presentation skills
- Possess an eye for detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
