I have an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Manager to join our friendly and successful team to provide overall management of utility metering rollout and operation to support the end client understanding on energy consumption at site/building/asset level, reduction of energy costs and achievement of its carbon reduction ambitions.

Reporting to the Energy & Sustainability Director, you will be part of the wider Energy & Sustainability team covering all sites from Wales to Newcastle but predominantly working from home. 

You will also provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders on metering technologies, including meter data collation, to our energy management platform and local site teams on works completion, champion use of metering technologies across the comapny via case studies/sharing successes, provide progress reports for internal and external stakeholders and develop pipeline and financial forecasts for metering ensuring local site teams are aware of likely future work for resourcing purposes.

In addition to this, you will ensure appropriate work plans and budgets are in place to achieve programme deliverables and financial commitments, work with all stakeholders to support the management and mitigation of programme risks, and manage cost and stakeholder expectation through excellent communication and sound commercial decisions to ensure value for money. 

What you need to be a successful Utilities Manager -  

First and foremost, you will have demonstrable experience of delivery of metering projects, managing the implementation of metering at building/asset level, and be an expert on metering technologies including meter data collection.

You should have excellent stakeholder management skills, be able to plan, direct, control and report on activities and manage costs.

Possibly someone who's a metering expert in terms of technologies worked in metering company or a big corporate company doing something similar
electrical/mechnaical background would be beneficial.

It is essential that you hold HNC/D level qualification in a Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or have extensive working experience within a similar role to be qualified by experience and have developed IT skills (e.g., Excel, Word, CAFM, Teams, SharePoint etc.
