Leaving Care Personal Advisor - Warrington 

Are you a passionate, dedicated Leaving Care Personal Advisor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join a Children in Care and Care Leavers Team based in Warrington.

Umbrella Rate: £21.22 per hour 

Duration: 3 months initially 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid

Leaving Care Personal Advisor role: Full JD Available

Provide direct support to children and young adults aged 16 – 25 years, supporting and advising them to live independently as they make their journey into adulthood
Work with a range of differing needs/ complexities
Maintain regular contact with the young people
Form strong, trusting working relationships with the young people
Provide practical and emotional support
Assist with issues of accommodation, income, health, education and training
Assist the young people in developing their own ability to negotiate with agencies and others within their community
Provide advice and guidance or signposting to various support services
Contribute to their pathway plan
Ensure that Pathway Plans are reviewed and updated on a regular basis
Review the needs of the children and young people
Work in partnership with a range of agencies ensuring that young people leaving care receive the highest standard of service
Seek the views of the young people on the service delivery
Advocate on behalf of young people with other agencies
Travel/ respond to crisis as they arise
Attend care leaver forums, working with the Participation Officer to offer additional support to the young people
Keep up to date records on the council’s IT system
Essential Requirements

UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
Significant experience of direct work with young people leaving care
High level of understanding of the educational, employment and social care needs of young people leaving care
Knowledge of child development and the potential impact of neglect and abuse
Ability to carry out assessments of need, complete Pathway Plans, review work with young people and key professionals
Demonstrate the ability to work constructively with other professionals and agencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
