Solicitor

Empresa: CV-Library
Tipo de emprego: Tempo integral

This is a unique opportunity for a Solicitor (or Legal Executive) to join the specialist legal arm of the spinal cord injury charity, Aspire.

Together, Moore Barlow and Aspire are able to offer first-class legal expertise paired with extensive and in-depth knowledge of providing the services and support that spinally injured people need.

More about Aspire Law:

Aspire Law is the only UK law firm of its kind; in that it provides comprehensive and expert support specifically to those who have suffered a spinal cord injury because of an accident or medical negligence. The team of dedicated legal professionals focus all their time working to achieve the best results for their clients, ensuring they receive the maximum compensation from their claim, and the best rehabilitation and ongoing support. The firm invests 50% of its profits back into the charity, so it can continue and improve its fantastic and life-changing work.

Day to day:

As a Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload of spinal cord injury claims that have arisen as a result of medical negligence, as well as assist the Senior Solicitors on the more complex and protracted matters handled by the team. There will also be plenty of scope for you to assume the day-to-day responsibilities for such matters, with supervision and support from one of the senior lawyers. Additionally, in time, it is expected that your caseload will develop into more of a “mixed bag” of both medical negligence and personal injury claims; plenty of support and training will be provided if your background has typically leaned more towards medical negligence claims.

Given the depth of the team’s experience with spinal cord injury claims, this position will provide you with an excellent opportunity for further professional development as you carve out your reputation as a specialist in this niche.

While the team are based in Moore Barlow’s London City office, the majority of our lawyers predominantly work from home which means you will benefit from a significant degree of flexibility, allowing you to deliver great outcomes for your clients whilst striking a healthy work/life balance.

What we look for:

* A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with prior experience handling medical negligence claims. Ideally, you will have dealt with claims relating to spinal cord injuries specifically, but this is not a requirement as training will be provided.

* Additionally, a background, or significant interest, in managing personal injury matters will be beneficial as this will fit with the longerterm outlook for this particular position.

* We do not tend to use PQE as the sole measure of experience, but we estimate this position would suit somebody with between 26 PQE. Ultimately, we are keen to hear from individuals who are currently at or feel ready to step into an Associate-level role, and who are keen to develop further as part of our specialist team.

* We are humanfirst in everything we do and seek people who share this trait. You will therefore have great communication skills and a passion for helping clients who are going through an extremely difficult time in their lives.

* You will adopt a naturally proactive approach to your work, and be happy and able to get “stuck in” to support the wider team when required.

* Whilst this position is offered fulltime, we are a flexible team and are open to considering alternative working patterns.

If you have the required skills and experience and are keen to advance your career as part of the unique Aspire Law Team, then we strongly encourage you to apply.
