Our client offers a specialist smart waste management systems for the public and private sectors. As sustainability and smart cities becomes top of the agenda for companies and councils, this offering will transform streetscapes and waste collection globally.

Expanding rapidly our client is looking to engage a Business Development Manager to open new accounts, build customer relationships, and grow our business in the Greater London area. The BDM will be heavily involved in the development of a targeted strategy for the UK.

Reporting to the CEO and UK Commercial Lead, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales across the Public and Private sectors in the UK, building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline. You will interact daily with staff and partners in a multicultural and multilingual environment. This will be a proactive role that will focus on the greater London area but may include overseas travel from time to time.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Salesperson who is familiar with the public sector and public tendering processes. You will be an effective team player and will have great attention to detail with the ability to work to agreed targets and on your own initiative.

Responsibilities will include:

* The achievement of sales targets across public and private sectors.

* Research into and development of the territory and developing new leads

* Account management of existing customers, building strong long-term relationships

* Providing comprehensive after-sales service and upselling

* Building a long-term pipeline, winning new business, and developing new market sectors for our products

* Daily maintenance of your own accounts on our CRM package including updates and generating quotations

* Working closely with our Maintenance and Operations teams

* Weekly reporting and analysis of pipeline to Senior Management

* Participating in weekly sales update meetings with the various sales teams

Working collaboratively with our teams across all Countries

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Previous senior sales experience of at least 5 years

* Experience in public sector sales an advantage

* Experience in prospecting and new customer acquisition

* Ability to develop and qualify leads and convert into sales

* Strong account management skills and ability to build and maintain customer relationships

* Organised and methodical

* Strong IT skills with experience working with CRM and other IT systems

* Full Driving Licence

This role will be a full-time permanent role based in the greater London area.
