Yard Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative in Wakefield to join to join the team of a national company that supplies specialist equipment to the construction and events industry.
As a Labourer/Yard Operative you will be the expected to provide support to the Foreman and Depot Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the depot.
The role will be predominately based in the Depot, with some field-based work as and when required by the business.
Full UK Driving Licence and Forklift Licence are essential for this role.
Salary - £28,500-£30,500 per annum (£14-15 per hour)
Hours - 8.00am-5.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00am-5.00pm Fri
Holidays - 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:
* Loading and off-loading of equipment as necessary
* Making sure all equipment is checked in and re-fuelled on return to the depot
* Completing the necessary paperwork associated with deliveries/collections
* Inspecting equipment on return to the depot for signs of misuse and reporting any damage to office staff
* Daily defect reports on forklift trucks to be completed
* Assisting Foreman and engineers in preparing equipment for hire
* Make deliveries to site using company vehicles, may include towing equipment to/from site
* Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace
* Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times
Requirements:
* Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years
* Forklift licence required
* Ability to Tow trailers (training provided if required)
* Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Capability to communicate on all levels
* Eager to provide excellent customer service at all times
* Ability to prioritise workload
