Our client is currently looking to recruit a Benefits Assessment Officer on a 3 month initial contract, working remotely.

£24 per hour inside IR35

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Benefits Assessor / Benefits Officer / Assessment Officer and have ideally worked within the public sector / Local Authorities.   Within the role you will be making assessment and administration of claims for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Local Welfare Assistance .  You will deliver a prompt, accurate and customer-focused service, sharing knowledge and experience with inexperienced colleagues.
  
Key duties
Take action to ensure that applications for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Discretionary Council Tax Reduction and Local Welfare Assistance are processed and paid promptly and correctly in accordance with legislation and procedures..
Resolve to conclusion telephone, face-to-face and written enquiries from residents landlords, external agencies and other departments
Provide advice about welfare assistance and where applicable signpost customers to other agencies for help and support. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Benefits Assessment Officer to join an established organisation with opportunities of contract extension, and home working
