Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary and Secondary residential SEMH). Hours: 8.80am - 3.30pm Mon-Fri

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant, focusing on supporting children who have had negative experiences in mainstream education, coupled with SEN and other challenges.

Our Partner School runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidate will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.  The school is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

There are also opportunities to work additional hours within the residential care team if staff wish to.

Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally. 

Responsibilities: 

Assist in preparing learning materials and organising classroom activities. 
Provide hands-on support and supervision.
Foster individual development and engagement with the world. 
Adapt to various classroom roles, indoors and outdoors, based on individual requirements. 
Lead activities, facilitate outdoor experiences, and ensure safety during exploratory outings. 
Assist the classroom teacher in running exciting lessons & maintaining a clean and safe classroom.  

What We're Looking For: 

SEN Teaching Assistant with the main goal to provide support and guidance, and to enhance the quality of life for the child and family.
Strong teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to share ideas and collaborate effectively. 
Passion for working with neurodiverse pupils, particularly those with SEMH.
