Major Recruitment are looking for an experienced Goods Inwards Inspector to join our clients' dynamic team based in Stokesley.
The successful candidate will ensure that all incoming goods and materials meet the required quality standards and specifications, verifying their compliance through inspection, testing, and documentation, thus facilitating smooth operations within the organisation. Making sure non-conforming product does not leave the GI area until any deviations have been resolved or written permission has been obtained to release the product.

Main Responsibilities:

Inspect and assess incoming goods and materials against specifications and quality standards.
Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and tests ensuring all supplied items are processed within the agreed turnaround time scales

Conduct relevant documentation checks in accordance with our goods inwards procedures

Identify and document any non-conformities, defects, or discrepancies.

Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues related to quality or specifications.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and supplier documentation.

Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to relevant departments.

Assist in the development and improvement of quality control procedures.

Monitor and report on supplier performance and quality trends.

Adhere to company procedures and health and safety policies

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the goods inward area.

Participate in internal and external audits as necessary.

Support 8D's and liaise with suppliers and ensure robust corrective actions

Support the Goods In Team as necessary

Role Requirements:

Certification or training in quality control or inspection techniques

Qualification at an A level standard or above

Any warehouse best practice training.

Understanding of quality systems

Awareness of HSE, Lean and manufacturing practices.

Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects or discrepancies.

Good understanding of quality control principles and practices.

Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Computer skills for data entry and documentation

Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards desirable

Have experience maintaining ERP systems
