Caretaker

Experienced School Caretaker Position St Albans - Immediate start. May 2024

We are seeking a reliable, pro-active and flexible individual to join our highly valued Estates team.

Working as part of the small caretaker team, you will work to ensure the security of school buildings, setting up classrooms and event venues, assisting with planned maintenance and ensuring the good overall appearance of buildings and the surrounding areas.

There may also be some driving duties so a full, clean UK driving licence is necessary.

This is a non-residential role.Overall Purpose of the Job:

As part of the Estates Team provide a clean, safe and secure environment for users of he buildings and grounds for students, staff, parents and visitors To set up and clear down rooms and venues to facilitate events, and external hire events.

Adhoc cleaning and all-round general maintenance and occasional cover for site lock up/opening.  

Main duties and responsibilities.

Site security, all general duties and routine maintenance, deal with deliveries, order consumables, cleaning, keep clean and hygienic conditions, day to day tidying, fixture and fitting repairs, furniture removals and other equipment - please ask for full details.

Must have: Caretaker Experience, GCSE maths and English, basic computer skills Microsoft packages, health and safety legislation,knowledge of cleaning methods,full clean driving licence,manual handling, basic diy and handyman skills, and a DBS would be beneficial.

Must be well organised, committed, can do attitude,time management, supervisor skills, willing to work outdoors,

This is a full time role.

52 weeks of the year. 25 days annual holiday, 8 bank holiday plus 3 between Christmas and New year.

Hours Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm 1 hour lunch   

Salary will depend on experience and discussed on interview.
