Qualified Social Worker - Children & Families - Chester - £37.50ph

Mbi Medical are pleased to be working with the Cheshire West and Chester Council. They are currently on the look out for Social Worker's to join our Winsford and Northwich Child in Need and Child Protection /Court Teams.

What We Need

- We require skilled and experienced social workers who have practice experience of working with children and families in both Child in Need and Child Protection. You will be expected to cover as duty social worker on a rota basis and have the ability to manage child protection/sec 47 enquiries working alongside partner agencies. You will have experience in completing Children and Family assessments and managing Child in Need plans.

- Assess the needs of children and young people who require social work services including the identification of risk and the need for protection. To develop, co-ordinate and deliver multi-agency plans to meet assessed needs and to review these plans to ensure they continue to meet assessed needs.

- Identify unmet needs and gaps in service provision to inform resource allocation and service development.

- Engage other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies in the delivery of services agreed following the assessment of need.

- Manage an allocated workload within a team setting.

- Comply with the statutory obligations and departmental policing and procedures.

- Maintain accurate and up to date records on the Integrated Children’s System (ICS) at all times.

- Prepare for and participate in professional supervision sessions and staff meetings and make use of all available training and developmental opportunities.

- Contribute to the evaluation and development of services and new ideas by sharing knowledge about theory, skills and practice with other Social Services staff, professional groups and interested bodies.

- Provide professional support to newly qualified and less experienced social work staff to enable others to develop their knowledge and skills.

Skills

- Working experience in the field of child care, particularly with looked after children.

- Experience of assessing/supporting Adopters/Carers.

- Experience of mentoring.

- Work with Looked After Children.

- Planning and delivery of support or supporting carers.

- Knowledge of information systems.

- Good communication skills written and verbal.

- Ability to cope positively in a time of major change in social work.

- Ability to work effectively with service users.

- Planning and caseload management.

- Able to take initiative and work autonomously.

- Time Management.

- Able to work effectively with partner agencies/colleagues.

- Proven interagency/multi-disciplinary working
